Professor Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Capital University, emphasized that the establishment and activation of Centers of Excellence within the faculties represent one of the most important pillars of the university’s strategy to advance both the educational and research process. He stressed the necessity for these centers to be directly aligned with the needs of industry and the labor market, contributing to the graduation of highly qualified cadres capable of competing both locally and internationally.

 

This came during the University Council meeting, attended by Professor Dr. Hossam Refai, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Emad Abu El-Dahab, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Walid El-Srogy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Major General Mohamed Abu Shaqa, Secretary-General of the University, along with advisors and deans of faculties.

 

The University President explained that Centers of Excellence serve as advanced platforms for supporting innovation and applied scientific research, highlighting the importance of establishing effective partnerships with international universities and research institutions to enhance knowledge exchange and the transfer of modern technologies. He also stressed the need to highlight and properly promote the scientific and research achievements produced by these centers in a way that reflects the university’s distinguished status.

 

He further noted that these centers contribute significantly to the development of academic programs by linking them to practical applications, emphasizing the importance of involving students in their activities to refine their skills and enhance their creative capabilities.

 

In the same context, he affirmed that supporting scientific research through Centers of Excellence contributes to producing applied research that serves national development plans, pointing out the importance of directing research efforts toward priority national issues.

 

He also highlighted that linking Centers of Excellence with society and industry strengthens the university’s role in serving its surrounding community and contributes to providing scientific solutions to societal challenges.

 

The President underscored the importance of providing adequate administrative and organizational support for these centers to ensure the efficient achievement of their objectives, praising the faculties’ role in adopting such qualitative initiatives.

 

He concluded by stressing that all faculties have the capacity to establish Centers of Excellence in their respective fields, calling for clear implementation plans to activate these centers in a way that achieves integration between education, scientific research, and community service, while enhancing Capital University’s position at both regional and international levels.
