Launch of the First Phase of Personal Interviews for Selecting “Capital University International Student Ambassadors”

As part of Capital University’s commitment to strengthening its international role and solidifying its position as a multicultural educational institution, the first phase of personal interviews for the “Capital University International Student Ambassadors” initiative has officially commenced. The initial round included students representing 10 different nationalities as the first group of applicants.
The interviews witnessed remarkable engagement from international students, who expressed their enthusiasm to represent the university and share their academic and cultural experiences in a way that reflects the rich diversity on campus. The university is home to more than 40 nationalities from around the world.
The initiative aims to select a balanced and culturally diverse team possessing leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, to serve as an effective link between international students and the university administration, and as true ambassadors who reflect the positive image of Capital University locally and internationally.
Prof. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Capital University, affirmed that launching the first phase of interviews marks an important step toward building a student leadership model that reflects the university’s international diversity. He emphasized that international students are key partners in the university’s journey of development and excellence. He further noted that Capital University firmly believes cultural diversity is a source of strength and enrichment, and that empowering international students to take on leadership roles enhances their academic and social integration while building genuine bridges between different cultures.
For his part, Prof. Emad Abu El-Dahab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, stated during the opening that the initiative aligns with the university’s strategy to promote internationalization and strengthen an academic environment that supports research and innovation. He highlighted that selecting international ambassadors represents an investment in promising student talents capable of representing the university at scientific and cultural forums and showcasing the distinguished academic experience the university provides.
Dr. Lobna Shehab, Director of the International Students Office, confirmed that the first phase of interviews, which included nominations from Sudan, Yemen, Oman, Chad, Tanzania, Nigeria, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, and India, demonstrated a high level of awareness and sense of belonging among applicants. She praised the diversity of cultural backgrounds as well as the high degree of enthusiasm and professionalism shown by the candidates.
She added that the Capital University International Student Ambassadors initiative aims to build effective communication bridges among students to support their new peers and facilitate their integration into university life, while also reflecting the university’s image as a global educational environment.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Ms. Farida Hashem, Assistant Secretary of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, who emphasized the university’s full support for its international students and its commitment to overcoming any challenges they may face. The personal interviews were conducted based on objective, fair, and transparent criteria to evaluate leadership skills, communication abilities, positive spirit, and readiness to assume the responsibility of representing the university. The evaluation and nomination stages are scheduled to continue in the coming period in preparation for announcing the official team of Capital University International Student Ambassadors, who praised the spirit of social cohesion and integration within the university as they begin a leadership journey that represents a distinguished model of diversity and unity on campus.
